Day 201 - Officially Thirty

Yep... today I turned 30! My 20's are officially over. I had a great party tonight with some of my fabulous friends. I made the main course, a Pioneer Woman recipe for Grilled Pineapple Enchilada's and my friends brought some side dishes, including a birthday cake (courtesy Melissa). We had fun!

Day 200 - Preparations

I decided last week that I wanted to throw myself a birthday party for my 30th. I had a vision of putting up lights in my backyard, so I borrowed a some Christmas light strands from a friend. I'm pretty pleased with the results. It looks even more fabulous in real life.

Day 199 - Sadler Stack

This was an interesting Family Totem and I'm not sure what the motivation was, but it sure looked fun! We have really been enjoying being outside for Family Home Evening this summer.

Day 198 - Birthday Flowers

My friend and consultant Shellie came to my digi-crop this morning and brought me a gift. I was so excited to get some beautiful flowers. I transplanted them to one of my pots.

Day 196 - Day at the Lake

Today we drove up to Lake Tahoe with our friends Jennifer and Bailey Sadler and Jessica Gregory. We met up with a lot more of our friends when we got there. Abby is still afraid of the water, but she got used to it right before we left.

Day 195 - Smell the Roses

I've been trying to take good care of my rose bushes this year. Today I decided to cut a few, and I put them in a vase that used to belong to my great grandma Christy. For some reason, using her vase makes it feel more special and feel like she is close by.

Day 194 - Abby and the Slide

Today we hung out over at the Anderson's... Abby loves the slide and loves to climb up it in order to get to the top (something she learned from watching Bailey). Abby giggles so hard when she slides down.

Day 193 - See Rock City

Have you seen Rock City? When I was young, a seed was planted in my heart to "See Rock City" because of the same famous words painted on barns all over the southern country side. I finally got to see Rock City as an adult and this trademark birdhouse is one of my token's of the visit.

Day 192 - In Bloom

Abby and I went out to play in the yard for a little while before leaving for Family Home Evening. Our rose bushes are in bloom, so I was doing some pruning. I stuck a flower in Abby's ear. Surprisingly enough, she left it there for a long time.

Day 191 - Two Against One

Normally, you would think that two against one would be advantageous. Well, when Abby is your partner... it's not so helpful. On the other hand, it was good for me, since otherwise I wouldn't usually win at checkers against Steve. So, maybe Abby was really on my team?
